When I decided to cast my idea into the ecosphere. It was with humility and fear. I was humbled because I did not know if I could match the skincare business I had before, year’s ago. Fearful of the changes the industry had advanced in AI, digital ad promotion, self-directed promotion, and TikTok. The home of companies far ahead of my novice entry, and having no one to bounce ideas for the benefit of the business. This would be a lone maiden voyage. Could I do it? This was a re-imagined dream. The quote I hold close to my heart is, “If your dream does not scare you, then it’s not big enough.” Well, I’m here to tell you. I am freaking horrified.
How and where do I start? After going through a checklist and purchasing the basic supplies, materials, and natural organic ingredients. I pulled old books I’d packed away and started refreshing the mixing processes. It took a few attempts to get the texture right. It was now time to let people know I’m starting the business and asked if they would agree to try for free the samples. Because of starting on a shoestring budget, twenty- five samples were mailed out. I gave it a week. Once I requested feedback they started pouring in.
